Ms. Owens is the Chief Financial Officer for Velocity Homes and Worldwide, Inc, a private financial services Company that supports the wealth management of an Atlanta, Georgia family. Her responsibilities include management of the accounting department, implementation of accounting polices and procedures, tax compliance with regulatory agencies, human resources, risk management, and liaison between financial institutions, brokerage houses and CPA firms. She works closely with Worldwide’s Owner on special reports and projects.

Prior to getting her degree, Ms. Owens worked in public accounting as a staff accountant. After graduation she went on to become a tax manager before leaving public practice to work in the private sector. She has 26 years experience in accounting and auditing - 15 years in public accounting and 11 years in the private sector. While in public practice her areas of concentration included financial accounting, auditing and tax compliance for state and local governmental agencies, not for profit agencies, real estate contractors & developers, medical professionals and estate planning for high-income individuals.
